While this year has seen record turnouts in primary voting and unprecedented involvement by young voters, all good news, it is still important to keep in mind that national elections can drown out the significance of local, state, and municipal politics.
Local elected officials create policy and base decisions largely on the considerations of their constituents - specifically, the ones who vote and continue to engage with them. Recognition of these interests is possible through Republican political organizations that can hold elected officials accountable to the community, like school boards, city council, mayors, fire and water boards, Assembly and State Senator.
So the job of any local Republican Party County Central Committee is to facilitate registration efforts and serve as a clearinghouse of resources or lacking support from the county party it becomes the duty of volunteer Republican groups.
While working with grassroots organizations we envision a year round Republican voter movement that is aimed toward greater voter registration participation and will sustain itself well after the presidential election.
